Logo & Wordmark
Redact’s wordmark uses cropped letterforms to symbolize how their tactics will reduce and remove instances of sexual assault online and restore anonymity to victims, while the “Blinded Dove” metaphor symbolizes the innocence of the victims, and their return to privacy. The red “blindfold” bar on the bird’s face is a symbol used across the entire brand to symbolize anonymity.
Glitch in the System
Redact uses a series of visual “glitch” effects to simulate the corruption of the pornography industry, as well has how their campaign intends to digitally cripple the reputation of these unscrupulous web purveyors.
Stronger Together
Redact demonstrates the shocking statistics of these online crimes and gives the viewer a broader perspective on how they can help bring justice through the infographic video below. (2 min).
Taking Action
Redact strikes these unsavory websites right where it hurts most- on their own turf. These sidebar gif ads show mimics of the Pornhub logo to expose who they truly are, and make users of the site do a double-take and consider who they might unknowingly be hurting in consuming this content.
Attacking On All Fronts
Having these gif ads in a variety of size formats ensures that no corner of these sites are safe from Redact’s mark of justice, not even right beneath videos.
A Reminder to Everyone
Victims of online sexual assault seldom have their videos uploaded consensually, and this advertising simulates the jarring moment when you receive notification that an explicit video of YOU is on the internet without your permission, and puts the user in the shoes of the victim for a brief moment. This pop-up ad will appear across general news websites and social media to advertise this cause to the average consumer and leave them wondering what this experience was all about.
Signs of Victory
Upon successfully having a video/photo taken down, all details of the video will be exponged from the site and will be left with a Redact “victory” screen to warn consumers that the video in question contained instances of non-consensual content and/or sexual assault.
Off the Screen and Into the Streets
Redact needs to strike hard online, but also provoke the thoughts of people on the street. This digital sign has a translucent screen that displays jarring sexual assault statistics and includes a camera on the opposite side of the viewer to put these stats in perspective using AR facial recognition technology. The values are then mapped onto people’s faces using Redact’s signature red “blindfold” rectangles.
This can exist in parks, malls, bus shelters, or anywhere large groups of people gather.
A Safe Place for All
Redact’s desktopo web presence is home base for the latest news on their ongoing campaigns to help victims of online sexual assault, and provide 24 hour support if you or someone you know has become a victim of these crimes.
